EA: I’ll let Jim speak to the specifics of China and Russia, but having covered wars as a journalist and fought in them as a Marine, one lesson I’ve taken from those experiences is that the division we’re witnessing at home is not that many degrees removed from the types of tribal, religious and sectarian divisions I’ve witnessed in places like Iraq, Afghanistan and Syria.
